Job Summary
As an Admin Hub Senior PA at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), you will play a vital role in keeping teams, managers and services running smoothly. Supporting senior managers within Blood Donation and Blood Supply, you will provide high‑quality administrative and secretarial support that helps NHSBT deliver life‑saving services every day. This is a varied and trusted role where your organisation, judgement and communication skills will really matter. You will manage diaries, meetings and information, handle sensitive matters with discretion, and work closely with colleagues to provide a seamless service. Main duties of the job
- Provide professional, confidential and reliable PA support to senior managers, helping them focus on delivering essential services
- Manage complex diaries, meetings and priorities so time is used effectively and deadlines are met
- Prepare high‑quality documents, reports, agendas and minutes that support clear decision‑making
- Act as a trusted point of contact, handling enquiries sensitively and responding clearly and promptly
- Organise meetings, events and training, ensuring people feel informed and supported Support recruitment activities, interviews and projects, helping teams work efficiently
- Share your expertise by supporting and guiding colleagues, contributing to a positive and collaborative admin hub
- Spot opportunities to improve how things are done, helping systems and processes run smoothly
About You
Experience and Knowledge
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
- Experience of working as a PA to Senior Management level or above.
- Experienced in communication on complex matters and difficult situations, requiring persuasion and influence.
- Experienced in producing meeting agendas, minute taking and follow up actions.
Qualifications and Training
- OCR (RSA) Level 2 Certificate in Text Processing or equivalent qualification or experience
- Educated to A‑level standard (including Maths and English), NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience
- Willingness and ability to undertake travel to other NHSBT sites and external venues, staying overnight if necessary (with appropriate prior notice).
