Job Summary

As an Administrator at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), you will play a key role in keeping services running smoothly and supporting teams to deliver life-saving work. You will be the central point of contact for communication, helping managers and teams stay organised, informed and focused. From managing diaries and coordinating meetings to handling sensitive information and maintaining accurate records, your work will make a real difference to how effectively teams operate. This is a varied and rewarding role where you can contribute to a meaningful purpose, develop your skills and build strong working relationships, all while helping NHSBT continue to save and improve lives.


Main duties of the job

• General administrative support of Manufacturing Management Team

• Periodic archiving

• Controlled document updates & Q Pulse actions

• Assist in department Recruitment processes & administration

• Drafting of letters/communications from Management to staff

• Preparation of reports regarding Task based training/Mandatory training/PDPRs

• Creation of PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets for use in meetings

• Handle sensitive and confidential information with care, ensuring the right information is shared appropriately

• Coordinate meetings, training and events, giving you the opportunity to organise and deliver impactful activities

• Support new starters through induction and onboarding processes, helping others settle and succeed


About You

Experience and Knowledge

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly, professionally and with empathy
• Proven ability to organise and prioritise work, managing competing demands effectively
• Experience working in a busy office environment with multiple deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams and SharePoint
• Experience of preparing meeting documentation, including agendas and minutes

Qualifications and Training

  • Experience in a business administration role equivalent to NVQ Level 4 or NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Business Administration
  • European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) – Part I & II or ITQ2, or CLAIT II, or OCR (RSA) level 3 in text/word processing or demonstrable work experience
