Job Summary
As a Consultant in Donor Medicine at NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT), you will help keep donors safe and well while supporting the NHS to deliver the right blood and blood products to patients when they need them. You will lead clinical decision-making on donor suitability and follow-up, provide expert advice to colleagues and clinicians, and shape national policy through clinical governance, audit, teaching and research. Working across sites and teams, you will influence how we improve donor selection, manage adverse events and strengthen the quality of our services. This is a rare opportunity to combine clinical leadership with a clear, national impact on donor and patient outcomes.
About You
Experience and Knowledge
- Training and experience equivalent to that required for entry to the specialist register.
- Broad knowledge of general medicine.
- Wide experience in general medical specialties or general practice.
Qualifications and Training
- Full and Specialist or General Practice registration (and a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC) (or eligible for registration within six months of interview).
